An edited version of 'Chip On The Floor' from Groid LVIIII (A State Of Mind) an album from 1986 that contemporary critics described as not so much hit and miss but miss and miss. It's fair to say that assessment has stood the test of time but prompted by the unearthing of a former bandspersonage Groid LVIIII (Your Place Or Mine) is now available in remastered form.
By remastered I don't mean having the life squashed out of it by over compression and brickwall limiting but more akin to desperately trying to get rid of the hiss and other artifacts from the cassette master. For Groid LVIIII (A Waste Of Time) was mainly recorded live to stereo or at most by accompanying basic playback of drum machine and bass before effects were added on the fly at the compilation stage.

Groid LVIIII (A Modern Spacious Design) features such classic hits from the pits as Bit O'Room, Horrible Spoon, Astonishing Shrubbery and Lonely Crocodile. Indeed the last of those was of such popularity that one young lady made a point of sleeping with all its authors. I didn't write Lonely Crocodile...

Special thanks go to Jon E. Parker for stopping and, at no additional charge, re-starting the drum machine in the middle of 'Chip On The Floor'.
